Richard Bacon is a broadcaster, journalist, author and format creator. He is known for his unique interviewing style and warm, inquisitive, entertaining and no-nonsense nature.

Richard spent his formative years on Blue Peter (BBC). He then moved into broadcasting hosting The Big Breakfast (Channel 4), BBC 6 Music, Capital FM, XFM and Radio 5 Live. His rolling coverage of the 7/7 London Underground bombings won Capital Radio the Sony Radio Gold award for breaking news.

After a move to the US, in 2016, Richard hosted National Geographic’s flagship current affairs/talkshow hybrid, Explorer, which was broadcast to 170 countries worldwide, and Fox syndicated talkshow Top 30.

In the UK he has previously hosted The Big Painting Challenge (BBC 1), Show Me The Telly, Eternal Glory (ITV), Hidden Talent, How Rich Are You (Channel 4) and 30 Something, a 12-part interview series for AOL. He has also worked as a reporter on Tonight (ITV) and GMB (ITV).

Richard has written for publications including Esquire and The Sun and his debut book A Series of Unrelated Events was published in 2013. He has also appeared as himself in both The Thick Of It and The Dog Thrower.

In recent years Richard has created new entertainment formats, which have now been sold around the world including The Hustler (Studio Lambert), This Is My House (Expectation) and I Literally Just Told You (Expectation).
